African Gray Parrots
African gray parrots are hard to identify as a chick in pictures.
Though the species is known to live for more than 50 years, most birds live for about
25-50 years. They do no require much care and are perfectly OK with a large cage, fresh water, seeds, nuts, sprouts, fruits, vegetables, and commercial foods. The cost of a bird may reach $1000.

These birds are now bred in captivity with Congos being more popular than Timnehs due to their large size and a beautiful red tail. The birds are known to be able to speak, yet this ability does not develop in all birds. It takes time and effort to train these birds to speak.
